CALL: 5th EU-LAC Joint Call in STI 2025, Thematic Health, Topic 3.1: Global Health.

Call for Research Partners from Germany and Poland! Urgent!

A multinational consortium is seeking collaborators from Poland and/or Germany to participate in a research project under the 5th EU-LAC Joint Call in STI 2025, Thematic Health, Topic 3.1: Global Health.

Project Overview:

The project focuses on developing new molecular methods for the diagnosis and evaluation of intracellular parasitic infections, with a particular emphasis on biomarkers for Chagas disease and Toxoplasma gondii.

We are looking for a research group capable of working with CRISPR-Cas12 or Cas9 technology to study two intracellular parasites: Trypanosoma cruzi and Toxoplasma gondii, particularly in chronically ill patients. The study will involve using exosomes or immune complexes from serum or plasma as diagnostic and biological materials.

Our research team has already published two relevant articles on this topic in PLOS ONE and PLOS Neglected Diseases, and we hold a preliminary patent for Toxoplasma diagnostics using this technique. Both hospitals and laboratories are welcome to join the project.

The consortium groups involved in the project collaborate with hospitals and clinical personnel.

The project consortium currently includes: Argentina, and Spain (various hospitals, including Valencia and Barcelona, as well as the University of Granada).

The selected group may participate in the project as a Work Package Leader.
