Manufacturing Research Lab. (MRL) at Sabanci University is looking for outstanding post-doctoral researchers who are willing to apply for Marie Sklodowska – Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships (PF) 2025 call.

HOST INSTITUTION:
On a national level, SU has been one of the most successful universities in Turkiye in terms of the number of EU Framework Programmes funded projects per faculty member. The Sabancı University Research and Technology Transfer Office (SU ATT) is well-structured to manage the 262 active projects simultaneously, with approximately 57% of the total budget allocated to EU projects.

Research at SU is an interdisciplinary effort extending across all branches of science, technology, and arts. Academic activities are performed within the framework of three faculties composed of non-departmental and interdisciplinary programs: the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the School of Management, which feature a total of 12 undergraduate, 52 graduate and 17 doctoral programs. SU has also several research centres, including Integrated Manufacturing Research and Application Center (SU-IMC), Data Analytics Research and Application Center (VERIM), Center of Excellence in Nano Diagnostics (EFSUN).

Manufacturing Research Lab. (MRL):
Manufacturing Research Lab. (MRL) in Sabanci University (http://labs.sabanciuniv.edu/mr...) focuses on research activities in the areas of machining processes and machine tools. These involve process modeling and monitoring, machining of advanced materials, machine tool dynamics and process stability, high performance cutting, abrasive process and tool development, machine tool and cutting tool design, multi-tasking machining etc. Many of these activities have strong relations to industrial applications in the context of Industry 4.0, intelligent machining and AI. Recent activities also focus on the application of Physics Informed Machine Learning techniques in process modeling, monitoring, optimization and control. MRL has close collaboration with international research partners and industry from various sectors such as aerospace, automotive, machine tool, die and mold, cutting tool etc. More detailed information can be found in http://labs.sabanciuniv.edu/mr...

OFFER DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS:
The potential applicants are expected to have strong background on manufacturing, particularly in machining process mechanics and dynamics as well as machine tools involving modeling and measurement methods. Experience in application of AI and Machine Learning methods in the manufacturing process area would be an important asset. MRL is well equipped in this area with number of multi axis and precision machine tools and measurement systems as well as technical personnel, grad students and researchers. Candidates should have a strong motivation and team spirit with the enthusiasm to bring scientific questions to successful conclusions.
