Open Innovation Opportunity

Project Proposal

The AeroAlert project proposal aims to develop an innovative disaster warning system for populations affected (or expected to be affected) by natural or man-made disasters, even in areas with compromised communication infrastructure. The project will use drones, speech synthesis technology, and pre-defined algorithms for optimised disaster-specific messaging. It will support faster and more informed decision-making by individuals and communities, improving overall disaster preparedness and response efforts.

The project consortium includes behavioural science (psychology) experts, speech synthesis technology developers, and specialists in drone technology. We seek an international partner from the EUREKA countries/regions with funding (https://eurekanetwork.org/open...) with expertise in disaster or emergency management, risk communication, and (or) the development of effective warning messages.

The potential customers and user groups of the AeroAlert product will be government agencies and local authorities, NGOs and humanitarian organisations, emergency services and first responders, community organisations in disaster-prone areas, and private companies that may be involved in crisis management. The project will enable international collaboration between the research (university) and innovation/technology organisations with the ultimate goal of commercialisation. It will further offer future collaboration possibilities in similar fields.
