KNEIA is seeking a project coordinator and partners to participate in the ECOTRANSFORM project to co-create, implement, assess and scale up innovative ecosystem restoration solutions for (i) marine–coastal–terrestrial and freshwater transitional interfaces and (ii) mosaic agricultural landscapes with high biodiversity value, through transboundary living labs, in order to support the effective implementation of the EU Nature Restoration Regulation, enhance ecosystem connectivity and resilience, and enable long-term uptake by end-users across Europe.
TOPIC: “HORIZON-CL6-2026-01-BIODIV-01-two-stage: Living labs for co-creating solutions for the restoration of ecosystems” indicates: “Living labs have the potential to empower a green transition towards nature restoration and climate change mitigation and adaptation by developing solutions in a co-creative manner and involving actors in real life settings to achieve large-scale impact and foster collaboration between sectors and communities. (…) Proposals should: 1. support the set up of three living labs, with 10 to 20 experimental sites each, as places for testing and demonstrating innovative solutions to restore ecosystems following three main principles: (a) co-creation with a large set of stakeholders, (b) carried out in real-life settings and (c) involving the end-users.”
The outcomes of the project will contribute to the effective implementation of the EU Nature Restoration Regulation and the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 by delivering co-created, scientifically robust and socio-economically viable ecosystem restoration solutions for marine–coastal–terrestrial and freshwater transitional interfaces and high-biodiversity mosaic agricultural landscapes, enhancing ecosystem connectivity, climate resilience and nature-positive land and water management, while enabling scaling-up, policy uptake and long-term adoption by end-users across Europe.
