We are seeking partners to join the NEPA project, which aims to redevelop a compact, intrinsically safe submersible robot for in-service inspection of above-ground storage tanks (ASTs).
The NEPA system will detect internal corrosion and measure tank wall and floor thickness without requiring tank shutdowns, thereby improving operational safety and significantly reducing maintenance costs.
Through collaboration, we aim to finalise the robot’s ATEX Level 0 certification, enhance its capability to operate through up to 30 cm of sediment, and validate performance in real industrial conditions. The project will advance the technology to market readiness, ensuring compliance with international safety standards.
We are seeking collaborators with expertise in explosion-proof (ATEX) design and certification, ultrasound-based non-destructive testing (NDT), robotics and autonomous inspection systems, and industrial partners able to support field trials and provide end-user feedback.
