Improving clinical management of heart disease from early detection to treatment
Project Proposal
Seeking consortium for: Patients preferred outcomes&gender-specific mgmnt of CV disease&cognitive decline from early detection to treatment

Seeking expertise:
We are looking for a Leader Group acting as a Coordinator for the purposes of a broad Project aimed at identifying and promoting a comprehensive approach to subjects and patients in the spectrum of Cardiovascular (CV) continuum. The clinical and public health fundaments for this are clear. The pathophysiological fundament relies on the need for identification and tracking of pertinent clinical and biological biomarkers for evaluating the gender-specific progression in the CV continuum.
Therefore, on the basis of our expertise, we are interested in the identification of a broader spectrum of gender-specific biomarkers:
- pathophysiological
- stratification (primarily for treatment allocation and/or response)
- predictive
- prognostic
In our aging populations this also implies inclusion of functional outcomes closer to patients’ preference into the decision making and monitoring of higher-CV risk patients.
These clinical or biological biomarkers should allow a better tailored and more personalized identification of high-risk populations, phenotyping disease and/or treatment responsive subtypes, and predicting the progression to loss of function and disability.
Thus, our interest and our expertise fit with the purpose of both
Clinical validation of biomarkers for diagnosis, monitoring disease progression and treatment response
Improving gender-specific clinical management of CV disease and cognitive decline from early detection to treatment
Expertise in clinical and biological biomarkers identification and validation in population cohorts, characterization and follow-up of patients groups, core-facilities with cutting-edge technology for multi-omic measurements such as genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics and proteomics
