Prof. Erkay Savaş is an expert in the fields of cryptography, data and communication security, privacy in biometrics, trusted computing, security and privacy in data mining applications, embedded systems security, and distributed systems. He is the director of the Cryptography and Information Security Group (CISEC) of Sabanci University. He published many articles.

OFFER DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS:
• FPGA-based Accelerator Development:
• Design, develop, and implement hardware architectures to accelerate homomorphic encryption operations.
• Integrate FPGA-based solutions with existing software cryptographic libraries.
• Create software tools and APIs to enable the integration of software libraries with FPGA accelerators.
• GPU-based Accelerator Development:
• Design, develop, and implement CUDA codes for GPU acceleration of homomorphic encryption operations.
• Integrate GPU accelerators with known software cryptographic libraries.
• Develop software tools and APIs to facilitate the integration of software libraries with GPU accelerators.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Hardware Description Languages: Expert knowledge in Verilog for FPGA design.
• FPGA Expertise: Extensive experience with programmable FPGA devices, including installation, configuration, and application in computer systems.
• CUDA Programming: Expert knowledge in CUDA for GPU acceleration.
• GPU Expertise: In-depth knowledge of programmable GPU devices, their installation, and usage in computer systems.
• Cryptography: Strong background in cryptographic principles, with a preference for experience in secure multi-party computation protocols.
• Operating Systems: Proficiency in Linux for development and deployment environments.
• Programming Languages: Strong command of C/C++ for GPU programming and basic knowledge of Python for prototyping.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly.
• General IT Skills: Familiarity with Windows operating systems, office software, VPNs, and other standard IT tools.
• Communication and Teamwork: Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and communication within the research team and with external partners.
