Who we are
Dr. Maarten Renkema and Dr. Pauline Weritz, assistant professors at the University of Twente, bring expertise in OB, HRM, digital transformations, and AI. Our interdisciplinary approach focuses on creating meaningful exchanges between academia and practice to drive innovation and responsible AI deployment in healthcare. We follow a socio-technical perspective with a mixed-method approach.
Interest
While the health sector explores the potential of AI in transforming work processes, we as researchers delve deep into its implications and aim to align these efforts. By connecting science and practice, we enable professionals to apply cutting-edge insights in their organizations while offering scientists opportunities to collaborate with regional and international institutions to conduct impactful research. Our work emphasizes critical sectors where AI and innovative management practices can significantly impact (personnel) management and strategies. Through active collaboration, we strive to address key questions around responsible AI adoption, ensuring social, environmental, and economic outcomes.
Contribution
We initiated a learning community (AI@work) where we are dedicated to bridging the gap between research and practice in the evolving field of AI. Our mission is to foster communities of experts with diverse knowledge and experience in AI deployment, focusing on developing good practices and educating key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, hospital managers, AI developers, and patients. Through our experience from AI@Work, we can contribute to consortia by facilitating collaborations, sharing knowledge, and enabling impactful research in areas where AI reshapes work and society.
