Existing Project

SUNUM, in collaboration with Delft University of Technology and the University of Southampton under TEAM-NANO initiative, is offering four Researcher positions in cutting-edge fields of nanotechnology, flexible electronics, sensors, and nano-electronic devices.

The successful candidates will contribute both scientifically and strategically: conducting cutting-edge experimental research while also developing new project proposals and securing external funding to strengthen SUNUM’s research capacity.

1. Researcher 1 – Circuit Design for Flexible Electronics

Focus: Flexible circuits for IoT systems, wearables, sensors, and medical devices.

Responsibilities:
• Develop flexible circuits/e-textiles using advanced materials.
• Program and integrate microcontrollers & sensors.
• Tailor designs for healthcare and environmental monitoring.
• Perform simulations and experimental validation.

Qualifications:
• PhD in Electrical Engineering/Electronics (minimum 3+ years post-PhD experience).
• Experience in flexible/printed electronics, CAD tools, and cleanroom processes.
• Skills in microcontroller programming (Python, C, Matlab).

2. Researcher 2 – Micro/Nano Electronic Sensors for Healthcare

Focus: Development of e-nose and nanomechanical chip sensors.

Responsibilities:
• Design/fabricate nano-electronic sensors with lithography, thin-film, and printing.
• Integrate advanced materials (2D and quantum materials).
• Functionalize devices with bio-/chemo-receptors for biomarker detection.
• Conduct performance testing (sensitivity, selectivity and reproducibility).

Qualifications:
• PhD in Electrical Engineering/Electronics (minimum 3+ years post-PhD experience).
• Hands-on cleanroom experience; electrical, optical and structural characterization
• Knowledge of low-power device design preferable.

3. Researcher 3 – Advanced Sensor Technologies

Focus: Sensor integration with NFC/RFID systems, wireless communication, and battery-free operation.

Responsibilities:
• Integrate sensors with NFC/RFID transponders.
• Develop RF energy-harvesting systems for battery-free systems.
• Implement ADC-based data acquisition & intuitive user interfaces (apps/PC).

Qualifications:
• PhD in Electrical Engineering/Electronics (minimum 3+ years post-PhD experience).
• Expertise in RF energy harvesting, sensor communication protocols, mobile app development.
• Experience in cleanroom processes and circuit design.

4. Researcher 4 – Nanoelectronic Devices for Next-Gen Computing & Memory
Focus: Low-power, high-performance nano-electronic devices for neuromorphic computing and memory.

Responsibilities:
• Fabricate nano-electronic devices (NEMS/MEMS) using micro and nanofabrication techniques.
• Integrating 2D and quantum materials, polymers, metal oxides and redox-active molecules.
• Material/device characterization (electrical, optical, thermal and structural).

Qualifications:

• PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or related fields (minimum 3+ years post-PhD experience).
• Expertise in MEMS/NEMS memory devices and 2D/quantum material integration.
• Strong background in cleanroom processes, device design, and optoelectronics.
